GeneWeaver Error Messages
Error: Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record. Form Name ModRoutines. Procedure: AddSpouseSiblingChild" (version 1.1 Windows 98/ME) (Posted 12/20/02) Solution: This error can occur in a couple different places using GeneWeaver 1.1 on Windows 98 or Windows ME machines. You can download the GeneWeaver version 1.1a patch from here. Download Patch. This will correct this problem.
Error: Sibling doesn't show up after being added on the Sibling Tab. (version 1.1) (Posted 12/20/02) Solution: Most likely the person that you're adding a sibling to doesn't yet have parents assigned. Go back and assign parents to the person and then you can add siblings.
Error: In the Health Wizard, the arrow-down boxes don't function properly on the first page. (version 1.1 Windows 98/ME) (Posted 12/20/02) Solution: You can download the GeneWeaver version 1.1a patch from here. Download Patch. This will correct this problem.
Error: Online Help (within GeneWeaver) is unavailable (version 1.0a) (Posted 3/4/02; updated 12/20/02) Solution: The wrong help file was included in setup for those receiving version 1.0a. You can now download version 1.1, which fixes earlier problems and contains online help. Warning--the download file is about 25MB. If you are a registered user, you should have received a new CD for free in January. If you download this version, you will need your serial number to install the software. Your serial number will be found on your manual. It is recommended that you uninstall version 1.0 of GeneWeaver before installing version 1.1. Save this file to your hard drive or your desktop, then double click on the file (called setup.exe) and run the setup of GeneWeaver.

Solution: This error occurs when you try to open the Medical Pedigree report. You can now download version 1.1, which fixes earlier problems. Warning--the download file is about 25MB. Your serial number will be found on your manual. It is recommended that you uninstall version 1.0 of GeneWeaver before installing version 1.1. Save this file to your hard drive or your desktop, then double click on the file (called setup.exe) and run the setup of GeneWeaver.

Is there a demo version of GeneWeaver? Yes there is. You can download the demo from here. Demo Download. The demo is the fully functioning version 1.1a of GeneWeaver, but you will only be allowed to use it for 30 days. If you like what you see, you can come back and purchase GeneWeaver from our web site. When you install the demo, it will ask you for a serial number. Use the word demo for your serial number.
Will there be a MAC version of GeneWeaver? Sorry, Mac users. We do not anticipate creating a Mac version of Geneweaver.
Is there a way to run GeneWeaver on a MAC? Microsoft offers a software that claims to run Windows software on a G5 MAC. *Genes & Things makes no claim regarding the functionality of the Virtual PC for Mac® product. Please contact the manufacturer for details.
